An Important Message from the KingCo Conference Regarding Current Events

The mission of the KingCo Conference, is "To provide an optimum educational opportunity for each student in all areas of growth and development." The twenty-four high schools that form the KingCo Conference stand united in declaring that racism, especially institutional and socialized racism, keeps us from achieving our mission.

Our hearts break for the family of George Floyd and for the families of countless others whose lives ended far too soon.

As a Conference, we proclaim that Black lives matter. We believe in equity for the students and communities we serve. We acknowledge that we must individually and collectively do better. We commit to actively stand with our students and communities to enact change that reflects and celebrates the diversity of the students and communities we serve.

We will be working with our Principals, Athletic Directors and Activities Coordinators to develop concrete steps we, as a Conference, can take towards making this a more just and equitable world.
